Community tools help owners keep participation safe, useful, and correctly permissioned. For the member access side of the same journey, see Manage memberships, credits, and gated content. For reporting from a member perspective, point people to Report content and stay safe.
Before you start
- Decide who should have owner, admin, staff, or moderator permissions.
- Review current reports before changing moderation settings.
- Keep a written community policy for repeated moderation decisions.
Manage people and roles
- Open Settings > Community > Members to review members.
- Open Settings > Community > Roles to update role assignments.
- Open Settings > Community > Membership analytics for billing and conversion context, and Settings > Community > Credit usage for credit activity.
- Open Custom emojis when community expression needs moderation or cleanup.
Handle moderation and reports
- Open Settings > Community > Reports & Appeals.
- Review the reported profile, post, comment, or message.
- Apply the appropriate moderation decision.
- Open Moderation to review broader settings.
Expected result
Members should have the correct access, and unsafe content should be handled consistently without exposing private reviewer notes.
Troubleshooting
- If a member cannot access a feature, check both role and membership restrictions.
- If reports repeat, update community guidance and moderation settings.
- If an action is unavailable, confirm your own role includes moderation permissions.
